How Thermory turned their passion for wood into a global success story


Thermory is the world’s largest thermally modified wood and sauna materials manufacturer. By providing real wood solutions, they contribute to creating a sustainable and valuable living environment.

Through years of experience, they have perfected cutting-edge technology to bring out the best wood properties. Only heat and steam are used during thermal modification to enhance the wood’s natural characteristics. As a result, compared to conventional timber, the wood materials produced by this process are more durable, stable, and environmentally friendly.

A wide variety of wood modification and sales brands are incorporated into Thermory Group. Among their products are thermally modified decking, wall panels, cladding, floorboards, and industrially painted wooden products. The company is also one of the world’s largest manufacturers of sauna materials and ready-made saunas. 

There is no doubt about Thermory’s success. It employs more than 830 people and exports 90% of its production to more than 50 countries, earning a sales turnover of €140 million in 2021 alone. To achieve this, they sourced over 187.000 m3 of raw material that year. 

How BIND was involved

When we initially reviewed the Thermory website, we quickly realized that it needed to be updated and adequately equipped for a rapid scale. Their website is a vital part of their promotional efforts and reaching new clients; we took it upon ourselves to make sure it reflects the quality and professionalism of their business. 

Therefore, we started by creating an entirely new visual concept, based on which we built the new website. In addition to the latest version reflecting the brand better and having a smoother user experience, BIND scaled the website to support both US and Europe customers. Furthermore, we built a separate area for the China market on the same strong spine

We also made sure to connect their US market with the local teams efficiently, and we continued by setting new business goals and standards for the company and proper goal tracking. 

One last mission was to coach their marketing team on how to better promote the brand and ease their tasks through the marketing automation we set up. As a result, daily processes were streamlined.
